Firozabad authorities yesterday covered the statue of Swami Vivekananda & Pandit Chaturvedi positioned at Gandhi Park in order to perform Namaz on the occasion of Bakrid. This is really a bold yet stupid action by authorities.
On this, authorities faced sheer criticism not only from the people of other communities but even Muslims are against this action by authorities. Due to this, Nagar Nigam immediately removed the cover after performing their Namaz.
What the authorities are trying to show by covering the idols of Swami Vivekananda and Pandit Chaturvedi. Is this secularism?
Local newspapers tried multiple times to get answer on this from Nagar Nigam but all their efforts went in vain. When this fell in the ears of CM, he ordered strict action against the authorities involved. The news wasn’t covered by any news channel, may be due to very remote location but Muslims should understand that this is not a good example that they have set for the generation to come.
