Activists of the Shiv Sena Hindustan on Thursday staged a dharna outside the SDM office here against alleged atrocities being committed on Hindus in Pakistan and Bangladesh and demanded Prime Minister’s intervention.
Led by Sena’s vice-president Manish Sood, the protesters also submitted a memorandum to SDM Balbir Raj Singh, demanding that the Prime Minister take up the safety of Hindus with the two neighbouring countries.
Addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the memorandum demanded security to Hindus and of their religious places in Pakistan and Bangladesh
“Hindus in these two countries were leading inhuman lives,” Mr Sood said.
He further alleged that the daughters of Hindus in these countries were being forced to convert into Islam and undergo ‘nikah’ (marriage as per Islamic rules).
He regretted that Indian government was also “turning a blind eye to the travails of Hindus in these countries.”
The memorandum further said that “even in their own country, Hindus were forced to migrate from Jammu and Kashmir and neither their rehabilitation was done nor any economic package was given to them so far”. — PTI
