CHENNAI: The BJP on Thursday condemned the murder of a Hindu Munnani activist at Ambattur on Wednesday night.
Hindu Munnani’s Tiruvallur district president Suresh Kumar died after he was attacked by a gang near the Ambattur bus stand on Wednesday night.
In a statement, BJP state president Pon Radhakrishnan said Suresh had been involved in social service for the past several years and his death was a great loss to the society.
He said several Sangh Parivar activists had been killed in Tamil Nadu in the recent years. The delay in punishing the accused in the murders of Auditor Ramesh and others has led to more such crimes. The state government should quickly act and arrest the killers of Suresh Kumar so that such incidents won’t happen in future,” he said.
He expressed his condolence to the family members of Kumar. Meanwhile, Hindu Munnani leader Ramagopalan asked chief minister J Jayalalithaa to give special attention to the case and arrest the gang which killed Kumar.
In a statement, Ramagopalan said, “Though some of the murder accused are in prison, many others with the same motive are roaming freely and this is proved by the latest murder.”
