Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s organising secretary for Kodagu district, Sri DS Kuttappa, who was protesting against TippuJayanti celebrations was brutally attacked and hacked to death by a group of miscreants on Tuesday morning.
Angered by the Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s decision to celebrate Tippu Jayanti every year on November 10, Sanghparivar organisations including VHP, Bajarangadal, Hindu Jagarana Vedike, others were protesting against the government. RSS Karnataka state unit has strongly condemned the incident.
DS Kutappa, a 67 year old retired state government employee who served the Horticulture department, was serving as a secretary for the VHP’s Kodagu district.
