We wouldn’t entirely put the full blame on PM Keir Starmer as he has in the past brought up the issue of Hinduphobia and was shouted down by Hinduphobes for doing so but it proves again that Hindus are just seen as a political correctness statement by the government.
What needs to be done next is who was behind the Diwali event. And who was consulting 10 Downing St on what to do?
There’s also mention of some Hindu organisations that weren’t invited. One of them being the Hindu UK Council but who else wasn’t and was?
As we have pointed out in the past a million times about the massive ego bragging of self-appointed Hindu organisations and temple leaders on how Hindus have big status, are highly educated, rich and with a low crime rate when in reality have a total zero influence on how Hindus are seen and perceived in the country which is why anti hindu groups can easily also step through 10 downing st claiming to be the Hindu voice but promoting a Hinduphobic agenda.
Remember over 20 years back when we were close to getting Hinduphobia officially recognised, one day during a talk in Parliament, some of the MPs told us there is no such thing as Hinduphobia because Hindu leaders and representatives of Hindu temples told us so.
We only found out a few years ago that Anil Bhanot ex-leader of Hindu Council UK who wasn’t invited this year bragged on X-twitter how he officially stopped ‘Hinduphobia’ getting recognised in legalisation during 2003.
This is because most of the self-appointed Hindu leadership don’t even know the ABC of Hinduism. But use these events like Diwali at 10 Downing Street and or at Parliament as photo opportunities to show off how important they are to their relatives back in India, which is why Hinduphobia is on the rise, and next year beef steaks or laddus from Trimula temple will be served at 10 Downing Street Diwali party unless knowledgeable and articulate Hindus take over the Hindu leadership.
“UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Diwali reception at 10 Downing Street, intended to celebrate the Hindu festival, turned into a public relations disaster due to cultural insensitivity. Attendees were upset by the inclusion of non-vegetarian snacks and alcohol, which are considered inappropriate during Diwali celebrations by many Hindus.
The controversy intensified as some British Hindu groups expressed their frustration over being excluded from the event. This misstep stands in stark contrast to previous Diwali celebrations, particularly those hosted by Rishi Sunak, Britain’s first British-Asian Prime Minister, who has a deeper understanding of the festival’s significance. Starmer’s oversight points to his lack of cultural awareness and raises questions about the sincerity of his attempts to honour diverse traditions.” FirstPost
